§ 01 The founder's note

Hi, I'm Jack.

I've spent the last twelve-ish years building software and websites for companies of every size — from solo founders running a shop out of a basement in Sunset Park, to engineering teams at companies you've heard of. I learned more from the basement shops.

Here's what I kept seeing: a small-business owner pays an agency $25K for a website. The site launches. Looks great. Then the agency goes radio-silent. A year later the site is broken, the SEO has rotted, and the owner is paying $400/month for "hosting" they don't understand. They've been ghosted.

That happens because most agencies' incentives are wrong. They win when you sign. We want to win when you renew — in year three, year five, year ten. So we built the company that way.

We don't ghost. We build to compound. We tell you the truth. Those three sentences are written in the operating agreement. They're not marketing.

Two promises in one word.

We named the company Outlast for two reasons. First, because we don't ghost — we want to be the agency that's still around in year five, not the one that vanishes after the launch dinner.

Second, because we build digital assets that help you outlast your competitors — the kind that get more valuable every year, not less. A website that compounds in search. Software that grows with you. SEO that keeps paying.

And the bison? Bison are the only animal in North America that walks into the blizzard instead of running from it. That's the business we want to be. And that's what we want to build for you.
